Complete Three Session Package

This package includes the following three (3) presentations:

Just Before Dawn “From the Tragedy of Tradition to New Innovations in Assessing Trauma for Sexual Victims”

This presentation provides an extensive view of research Jan Hindman completed over a ten-year period regarding the intricacies of sexual victim trauma. Participants attending this training gain skills in understanding myths and misconceptions about sexual trauma, which also enhances skills in developing pertinent treatment plans for sexually abused children and adults.

Beyond Our Beliefs “Sensory-Based Treatment for Victims of Sexual Abuse”

This presentation includes Jan’s work regarding myths and misconceptions commonly held about sexual victim trauma, focusing on the “sensory base” of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This training emphasizes the development of treatment plans that are sensitive to the managed care system, that provide an understanding of THE NATURE OF TRAUMA BONDING, and includes a focus on how neurolinguistic programming effects both trauma and treatment. This presentation requires at least a four-hour time frame but can be expanded into a full day training.

Fantasy, Fixation, and the Future“Teaching Sexual Health to Children with Sexual Behavioral Problems”

This presentation examines the differences between adult and child sexual development and how important it is for those treating children with sexual behavioral problems to avoid “fixating” children into deviant arousal with an over emphasis on negative (deviant) sexual acting out. This is an innovative “skill-based” training providing clinicians with tips and techniques in developing treatment strategies that protect the precarious nature of sexual health for youth in both residential and outpatient treatment programs.

This training project was funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services.

The fee for this session or package of sessions provides viewing access for a single individual. A separate group viewing fee is available for agencies who wish to view and interact as a group. These discussions are in follow-up to training received over the previous days – TRAUMA AND THE BRAIN: The Impact of Abuse and Neglect. Implementation ideas, techniques involved, and potential pitfall to avoid both in Casey Foundation programs as well as local programs were reviewed. Time was allotted for the identification of foster family supports and critical issues to support implementation. Potential partnerships were also identified to facilitate and promote implementation.
